Yalagan Group Training delivers Kickstart in Construction – KIC program

As part of the Educational Pathways Pilot Program, Yalagan Group Training (YGT) delivered our pre-traineeships with vocational skills in Civil Construction to students from Grafton HS and Maclean HS which was a great success and a lot of fun.

YGT is incredibly proud of the students who participated and successfully completed the program, and we take a lot of pride in being able to deliver a successful program.

YGT’s customised program “Kick Start In Construction” was carefully developed to offer the participants a taste of both theory and practical sides of the construction industry.

Students completed units of competency in class with a qualified and experienced trainer and YGT organised for practical training  to introduce the students to the physical/practical aspects of the industry and give them some practice under careful supervision of the trainer.

Students didn’t only walk away with a SOT of attainment with our program but were able to be assessed and obtain tickets including white card, yellow card & working at heights to assist in future employment.

We are extremely proud to be a part of this program that aims to mentor and guide the next generation of leaders to find their career path outside of the normal framework of tertiary studies and or entry level positions  to assist them in achieving a great start to their career goals in Civil Construction, Warehousing and Transport or Logistics.

Thank you to David Youman Head Teacher, Educational Pathways Pilot Program (EPPP): Grafton Cluster for your guidance and assistance in making the program a success.

Thank you, Sue Kennedy and the whole of the DESE team, for the opportunity for YGT to be a part of such a fantastic program.

Our focus now turns to delivery of our next program for SWS school students starting 28th of March. Our aim is to continually improve and deliver even more meaningful outcomes for our community and students.
