We believe in empowering the next generation to step into successful and fulfilling careers, particularly in industries like Civil Construction, Warehousing, and Transport. Recently, we had the privilege of working with students from Grafton High School and Maclean High School as part of the Educational Pathways Pilot Program (EPPP). The pre-traineeship experience was a huge success, filled with valuable learning opportunities, practical hands-on training, and career insights. We are incredibly proud of the students who participated and completed the program—our journey together was not just about training; it was about creating pathways for success.

A Tailored Approach: “Kick Start in Construction”

Our “Kick Start in Construction” program was designed with one main goal in mind: to give students a well-rounded introduction to the Civil Construction industry. We carefully developed a curriculum that combines both theory and practical elements, ensuring students receive a holistic understanding of the industry.

“We wanted to give the students a real taste of the industry—both in the classroom and in the field,” said Eddy Hazem, NexGen’s Manager. “By combining theory with practical training, we were able to show them exactly what they could expect when they step into a career in construction.”

Qualifications and Certifications: More Than Just Experience

While many programs offer theoretical knowledge, our “Kick Start in Construction” program goes above and beyond by offering students the chance to earn practical certifications that are critical to entering the workforce. Students who successfully completed the program received a Statement of Attainment (SOT) for their training. But it didn’t stop there.

In addition to the classroom training, we ensured that students walked away with valuable tickets that would open doors to future employment, including:

• White Card (for general construction induction)
• Yellow Card (for plant operators)
• Working at Heights certification

These qualifications are not only essential to working in the construction industry but are also highly regarded across related industries like warehousing and logistics.
