Partnering for Success in the Pilbara

EWP YalaganLocal Knowledge, Cultural Authority, Outcome Focused

EWP Yalagan is a strategic partnership between two proud Indigenous owned businesses – the East West Pilbara Group Pty Ltd (EWPG) and Yalagan Group Pty Ltd (Yalagan). The two organisations, while from opposite sides of the country, come together to deliver specialised First Nations personnel solutions to the Western Australian resources sector.

When Njamal man Troy Eaton from EWPG and Nathan Martin, a proud Yuin man, of Yalagan, met in 2018 they quickly realised a shared a common vision – to see long term employment and career development opportunities created for their communities.

EWP Yalagan’s first project in the Northwest was to supply personnel to FMG’s Iron Bridge project – a $2.6bn project to develop a manganite processing facility 145km south of Port Hedland. Working alongside FMG subcontractors, EWP Yalagan has successfully mobilised 22 personnel to the site for the stage two civil construction package works. Personnel range from labourers, trades assistants, cleaners to plant operators, riggers, and construction trades such as carpenters. Of that 22, 17 were Indigenous, with 6 being local Njamal Traditional Owners.
